What has been your favorite experience in college thus far?

My favorite experience in college has to be gaining the ability of honesty knowing who I am as a person in the society that we're living in.

What extracurricular activities are you involved in?

At the moment I'm not apart of any extracurricular program because I'm fresh at the university, but I have plans of being apart of multiple organizations and programs that are passionate on making a difference on the university campus.

What is your driving or motivating force in life?

My driving force has to be my passion of repaying those that have had the opportunity to watch me grow into the man that I want to become in life.

What makes your university so special?

The thing that makes Western Illinois University special in my eyes is the fact that the university has so many opportunities for the students there to grow into the person they are in hopes of becoming.

If you had a dollar and a dream what would you do with it ?

I try not to use the word dream when it comes to talking about the future because dreams only come to sleepers, and at this stage of my life I don't really get too much sleep. I set goals to work towards, but to answer the question I would use that dollar to pay the way to accomplishing the dream.

What is your favorite quote?

My favorite quote would have to be one that the late great Nelson Mandela once said. " I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear." Meaning it's ok to be afraid of something as long as you try your best to overcome that fear. That's when you're displaying your courage.

How do you define success?

My definition of success is having the ability to repay the ones that assisted you in getting to the point of your life that satisfies your hunger of being the best version of yourself.

What goals do you have for your education?

My educational goals are to get everything thing that may come with getting a collegiate education and having the ability to overcome any obstacle that I may occur.

When it's all said and done, do you think anyone would want to read the story of your life?

Absolutely!!! Especially if it's a person that would want to read of a man that came from the projects and is on a mission to bring back knowledge to his community on how to be better than the portraits that the news has painted of us.

What makes you "So Educated” ?

My name is Diontae Norwood and I'm So Educated because I'm on a mission to be something more than what this world may see me as. I want to be that voice that makes a change for the younger people that are living in the same environments that I grew up, who are constantly feeling as if they aren't going to be anything in life because their communities aren't giving them the proper resources of being more in life.
